This is the first year I've really tried my hand at gardenin. I live in
Florida. I recently bought a Bird of Paradise at Walmart. It is still in it is 3gal. Specifically pot. Any hints at how to care for this plant. It doesn't have any flowers yet but I have suddenly placed it on a patio with a lot of sunlight. I don't know presumably anything about how much water or fertilizer if any i need

I'm not a gardner so speak slow =) My landscape was overgrown from many owners letting it grow, I've just about got everything cleared or cutback.

I think this is what it is, it has the grogeous orange like crane looking flowers. I have 2 of them, around 4 feet tall and with a wide spread, however like everything else around here they're both within
12 inches of one another.

In the same way I have a bird of paradise plant that, when moved, had two of its stems crunbched. The actual laeves hadn't hadn't unfureld yet (not sure whether it makes a difference). I was hoping that there was a way to comparatively bring those two basically severed stems, cut 'em, and grow new plants from them.

Help! Hurt bird of paradise!

That is I have owned a bird of paradise for about two years. It is about five feet tall and has about half a dozen large leaves, with another half dozen small leaves near the bottom. Since I got the plant, I've taken good care of it and it apears healthy, sprouting up a new leaf about every 4 months.

My problem is that a friend was here, a cluytzy friend, and he fell on my bird of paradise. FE

Help! Bird of Paradise parasites

We have an indoor Bird of Paradise plant about five feet tall. We gotten it only couple of months ago. Just couple of days ago i've noticed a small segmented worm under the plant. The worm is about half an inch long of light brown color. I looked closely in the soil & noticed tens of much smaler worms like this one. Whitiush to brownish color, only segmented but no legs that i could see.
