Help finding a plant with white flowers? - 2010/11/25 00:01 I'm trying to find the name of a flower I saw a while ago but I'm having a real bitch of a time coming up with the name. It was very pretty. The leaves of the foliage had a long, grassy shape. The flowers had small pedals that came from the center area and got larger as they went out.

Please help me?

Re:Help finding a plant with white flowers? - 2010/11/25 00:17 Hmmm, I'd like to help if I can, but that's not much to go on.
I might be able to take a wild guess or two if I knew a bit more, such as;
* In what part of the world did you see this plant?
* In what season of the year was it in bloom?
* How tall was the plant and how big were those flowers?
* Did each stem bear one flower or several?

Re:Help finding a plant with white flowers? - 2010/11/25 00:55 Those are grate questions. Thanks for the help zuzu.

-this was seen in the southeastern US, growing as a large potted plant.
-it was blooming in late spring
-there were many smallish plants in a large pot. maybe 2-3 feet high. flowers were less than 3" tall.
-the foliage grew from the center of the base of the plant. in the center of the plant were stems that each bore 1 flower each.

I have a nice wakway coming to my house. It goes up and then it goes down and then up again, around a turn. Half way up, there is a little alsha with a cove and fignot. At the turn, I want to have those nice plants with the flwoers. also, at night, my wakway lites will lite up the plants and make everything all nice and pretty. I want to get at least 3 of these and maybe up to 23. I just dont want it to suck. Sometimes I will decorate by putting a little caafcart near the corner.

Re:Help finding a plant with white flowers? - 2010/11/25 01:34 Okay, thanks, that's a good start - I live in the southeast US, and I'm trying to think of white flowers that bloom in the late spring. *lol*

Your description of the foliage sounds like this is a flowering bulb, can you tell me if the shape of the flower reminded you of any other flowers that you are familiar with? For instance, did it resemble a lily?
Or a daisy?

Re:Help finding a plant with white flowers? - 2010/12/04 08:04 Hi zuzu,
sorry for, slow reply. I got busy over the holiday weekends it might have been flowring in early spring. I am not can't be to sure. We were their for a few months that year. It did not look like a lily. The pedals came out from the center of the flower in a simetrical pattern. The pedals were thin and delicat and very pretty. Are there any other questions that will help us narro this down to a certain plant?

Re:Help finding a plant with white flowers? - 2011/01/23 01:14 Gosh, I'm really sorry and I sure wish that I could be more helpful, but I'm just not having any luck getting a picture in my mind of what this white flower looks like.
I can't even figure out what family of plants it might be in.

Have you searched images of white flowers online and seen anything that resembles it?
