dwarf blooms - 2008/08/23 23:32 I have about 20 dwarf hibiscus planted together. The first year they bloomed fantastic. The last 2 years they have super foliage and are full of buds however the buds fall off before they open. Not just a few but ALL. I have tried everything from Osmocote to Epson Salt and nothing works. Any ideas?

I have no advise. Perhaps diluting them? Or placing in indirect sunlight? Or feeding them fertilizers? Or watering them less... ?

Sorry that you are losing the pleasure of seeing those lovely flowers.
How frustrating.

It sounds like your plants are looking pretty healthy,
otherwise,
so assuming that all other conditions are good,
and that the plants are getting plenty of sun
and nutrients, including calcium,
then the first thing I'd try to rule out is
insect damage.

Hibiscus are attractive to a number of pests
which can cause bud drop.
