Meet George Cactus - 2008/03/12 05:43 This is the name I give a very remarkable plant, "George." He would like me to take the very best care of him but I don't know anything about him. I'm including his picture in hope that someone will recognize him.

Re:Meet George Cactus - 2008/03/12 14:45 George is about 4 ft tall now. Here is a better picture of him. There will be a closup of the blooms to follow.

Re:Meet George Cactus - 2008/03/12 14:51 Bloom closeup of George Cactus. The blooms are the result of parking George near a window on sunny days. You can see from the one picture some of George's leaves are turning yellow. He does this every winter when I have to bring him inside.

I appreciate your help. I just want to do the very best I can for George's sake.

Re:Meet George Cactus - 2008/03/13 00:48 Hello Buckeyzfan1 ~ Welcome!

Your George is actually Euphorbia Millii,
commonly called "Crown Of Thorns",
for obvious reasons. CLICK HERE

For more info, and some helpful care instructions CLICK HERE.

He looks pretty healthy to me.

In Florida, where I'm originally from,
you sometimes see these guys used as hedges.
They do a pretty darned good job of keeping the neighbor's pooch
out of your yard . . . . . . not to mention their kids. *LOL*

Re:Meet George Cactus - 2008/03/13 04:51 Thanks so much! We have pondered George for a long time...years. I'll take a look at the links later...too tired.

We have to take George in for the winter here but, I can surely see why he is called a "Crown Of Thorns."
