I don't mean to scare or something because this is a sincere question, but... aren't you afraid of sharks when going snorkeling in those waters? (this is a typical ignorant question of someone far away, having heard stories but not knowing the details)
Does This Count? - 2008/01/07 15:50Sharks like to hunt in muddy water. Maui was hit with a Kona Storm in December and the mud from upcountry ran down into Maalaea Bay Harbor. I stayed out of the water for a week. When it is clear I feel comfortable even though that isn't a guarantee. Also, dophins are fond of this area and sharks tend to avoid them.
