Please help me identify this flower! - 2007/10/12 21:13
My parents found this flowering plant in St. Thomas on their honeymoon. I currently have it now because they split and neither of them wanted it.
It only blooms every few years, and has a very strong fragrant smell like perfume. It is a bulb plant, and when it flowers.. a stalk appears in the center of the plant almost out of nowhere, and grows over a few days and blooms. The last time this plant bloomed was when I was a kid, and I am very surprised that it is blooming now. I just got it a few months ago and was afraid I would kill it... apparently it likes me, haha.
It anyone has any idea what it is please let me know! Neither of my parents know either. It looks similar to a Peruvian daffodil but I am pretty certain it is not.
