1) The yellow flower in the foreground looks like an orchid and has long leaves slender leaves about 300mm long.It grows wild in fields and terraces in Malaysia and propagates by spreading black seeds.Locals call it "wild orchid" but I am told it is a weed and belongs to the grass family.It is also used for landscaping. Flower can be up to 25mm in diameter.
2) The white flower in the background grows wild,flowers in the morning and flowers "close"by noon.the shrub is about 600mm high.Flowers are about 25-30mm in diameter.

Wild Orchid? - 2010/10/23 21:13I started to say wild water iris, but it doesn't have the long solid pedal near the middle. However, after a closer look, and if slightly mutated, it does look right. ---------
