Pink flower & Red Flower. Need help in ID. - 2010/04/19 07:05 Hi all,

I'm not sure the name of these plants. Please help?

The first one is a plant that has multiple small flowers, they are highly scented. I think they are annual plants.

The second one is a beautiful plant with red flowers. It has a long stigma and petals are usually in fives. =) Any idea?

Thank you!

Pink flower & Red Flower. Need help in ID. - 2010/04/24 06:33 Hi Floweret,
Sorry to be slow to reply, I was out of town for a while and just returned yesterday.

The plant in your first photo is Lantana (possibly Lantana montevidensis), which is an herbaceous perennial in my area (zone 8 in the US), but is an evergreen perennial in warmer climates.

The plant in the second photo is a Clerodendrum (my best guess is Clerodendrum thomsoniae).
To the best of my knowledge it is perennial in warm climates.

Pink flower & Red Flower. Need help in ID. - 2010/04/24 18:52 Oh thank you Zuzu!! I think the Lantana one is correct. I'm not sure about the Clerodendrum thomsoniae though.. there were never any white petals found on my plant. It could be another species altogether. but thank you!! It really helps! =D

Pink flower & Red Flower. Need help in ID. - 2010/04/24 21:05 You are most welcome.
You could be right about the Clerodendrum - but I do believe that there is some variability within the thomsoniae species - I grow one that has the VERY white bracts (as many of those in my image search showed), but I also found quite a few like this:

which I thought was a close match to yours.
(Of course, they could quite possibly be mistaken in their ID - you know what the internet is like. *lol*)
