What type of flower is this? - 2009/07/07 06:39 This is growing in my Dad's backyard and we're wondering what it is. He lives in Enumclaw, WA. Thanks for your help.]
Re:What type of flower is this? - 2009/07/07 15:34Really? These flowers are huge, about 6" in diameter. Wow, I've never seen a clematis this big, but cool. Thanks.
Re:What type of flower is this? - 2009/07/07 15:44 You're very welcome, glad to help.
This is certainly a hybrid cultivar, and could be one of the large-flowering varieties which are sometimes referred to as "dinner plate" Clematis, I've seen flowers which measure 8" or more across the center.
Re:What type of flower is this? - 2009/07/24 00:26There are some species of Clematis that would grow well in Indonesia, such as Clematis pickeringii. A hybrid such as the one in the original post of this thread, however, would almost surely prefer a temperate climate to one quite so tropical.
