Re:Flower from Kilimanjaro - 2009/06/21 23:21 Hello Muhammad, and Welcome.
This appears to be a hybrid Dahlia - a double-flowering cultivar.

Here are some links to photos of similar flowers for comparison:

Re:Flower from Kilimanjaro - 2009/06/22 00:38 Hi, you are most welcome for what small help I can give.

Yes, the genus is Dahlia,
and within the genus there are some 30-40 species.

The one in your picture, I imagine, is a named hybrid cultivar,
but which one, I'm afraid that I can't begin to guess.
Wikipedia says there are perhaps 20,000 different cultivars.

The hybridizers have been very busy, it seems.

"Double-flowering" is just a particular trait, descriptive of the flower form.
There are numerous flower forms among hybrid Dahlias,
such as
single and double, pom-pom, dinner plate, and cactus, among others.
