identify this plant - 2009/06/09 22:23
[img] I have a flower that originates from the Carribian Islands (trying to download a photo to help with no luck). The leaves are spear shaped and the ends can be cut along the ribs at the top but not on all leaves. The flowers appear on a long trailing shoot simular to a crocasoma except this flower devolopes off shoot plants between the flower heads, when rip these head (combs like bulbs) drop off the flower and bury themselves into the ground to regrow beside the parent plant.
At the time of dropping the junior plant is a mini rep of the parent of about 1 tenth the size, from what I know 2 colours are present either a bright red or a duller pink.
The leave grow from opposing sides of the centre branch and grow to the height of about 3 to 4 ft[img size=150]
