Re:Please help ID this flower - 2009/05/14 20:21 Hello ksl, welcome.

This plant is a member of the Bromeliad group,
quite possibly Hohenbergia stellata -
see this photo for comparison:

Re:Please help ID this flower - 2009/05/14 21:16 another thing...does anyone know where I could buy Hohenbergia stellata seeds? They seem to be pretty difficult to get a hold of...

Re:Please help ID this flower - 2009/05/14 21:48 You are very welcome, glad I could help.

Oh gosh, I couldn't begin tell you where to get seeds,
I've never even considered growing Bromeliads from seed.

On a quick search, I found this site in Florida that list the plant for sale
(of course, I don't know when their online catalogue was last updated ):
http://www.bullisbrom.com/products/PlantsDetail.asp?PlantDetailsID=4626
Their phone # is listed on the page, you could call and ask
about availability and prices.
