Hi Amandine, and welcome.
First, let me say that I wish that I could give you a better answer, but, I think that your photo looks more like a ripe seed pod than a flower, and your description of the cottony interior with seeds, does reinforce that impression.
If that is the case, then the flowers would have appeared at some time earlier. Pollination of the flowers would then lead to seed production, and even more time would pass before they became ripe and split open, as the one in your photo has apparently done.
So, depending on the species, the actual flowers may have been present weeks or months before you snapped this shot.
Perhaps a photo of the tree itself would be more revealing, if you have one?
